Congrats on your new place - by Beata

Hi crafty friends!

Beata June here and I’m so thrilled to be guest designing for Gerda Steiner Designs!  I’m stopping by to share a card I made featuring the new Cats and Boxes clear stamp set.

Congrats on your new place!

To make this card I used the masking technique to make a pile of boxes.  First, I stamped the entire image of the kitty inside the box using a Gina K. obsidian amalgam ink pad onto the top of a piece of white cardstock.

Then stamped out my image on a post-its, cut it out and placed it over my stamped image. Then I positioned the stamp under (I find using a clear post-it helps when I am trying to position my stamp in case there is ink residue left on my stamp), and stamped so that just the box stamped onto my paper.

I continued this process until I had a stack of boxes underneath my kitty.

Then I colored with copic markers and cut out the stack of boxes.

Copic colors used:

Kitty: C00, C0, C1, C2, C3, RV10, RV11, E04

Boxes: E40, E41, E42, E43, E44

Next, I blended a piece of white cardstock (4.25” x 5.5”) with Ranger Ink Chipped Sapphire and Blueprint Sketch distress oxide inks using a blender brush and splattered it with water.  Then I cut a piece of patterned paper (4.25” x 4.25”) and glued it on top of the blended cardstock.  Then I added little paw prints onto the patterned paper.

I heat embossed the sentiment to the bottom using a clear ultra slow drying WOW! Embossing pad and white embossing powder.  Then I glued my kitty and stack of boxes to the middle of my card above the sentiment.  Lastly, I added white highlights to my colored images using a white gel pen.

Here’s another look at my card:

Isn’t this kitty the cutest???

Thank you so much for following along!

Crafty hugs,

Beata June
