Hello Sunshine - by Maria

Hello,

Maria here and I am back with a card featuring the adorable bear in the “Hello Sunshine” Stamp Set.

To create this card, I started with a 3.875” x 5.125” panel cut from 80 LB Neenah Smooth Solar White Classic Crest Cardstock.  I stamped the sun in the upper left side and the bear in lower right side.

I stamped the sun and the bear on masking paper and cut them out.

I created a simple background by drawing a hill across another piece of masking paper that covered the width of my card panel and cut it out.  My hill is about 1.5” tall.

I used the masks to cover the sun and the bear and used the hill mask to cover the bottom third of the white panel.  To create the sky, I used Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass and Stormy Sky.

I removed the mask from the bottom of the card and used the other half of the masking paper to cover the sky.  I used Mowed Lawn Distress Ink to add color to the grassy area.

I removed the mask from the sun and used the negative portion to cover the sky, leaving only the circle exposed.  I used Scattered Straw Distress Ink to add color to the sun and stamped the smiley face on it.

I colored the bear and sign with Copic Markers:

Bear: E34, E53, E30, E51, E50

Nose: N4, N3, N1

Inner Ears: E93

Sign: E42, E41, E40

Beneath the bears feet:  YG25, YG23

I stamped the bear a second time and colored the sign and paws.  I stamped the “Hello Sunshine” sentiment on the sign with VersaFine Onyx Black Ink and fussy cut this section of the stamped image only.  I used a Momento Black marker around the edges and glued the fussy cut sign over the sign on the card panel.

To finish off the card I die cut two clouds from white cardstock and added some shading with Lost Shadow Distress Ink.

Finally, I adhered the colored panel to a Navy Blue A2 cardstock base.

Thanks for stopping by!

Maria
